Christopher Francis Ocean, nato Christopher Breaux ma meglio conosciuto col suo nome d'arte Frank Ocean (Long Beach, 28 ottobre 1987), è un cantautore e rapper statunitense.
Breaux iniziò la propria carriera come ghostwriter per artisti come Justin Bieber, Bridget Kelly, Aramide Makinde e John Legend. Ocean è stato un membro del collettivo OFWGKTA, esordendo nella traccia di Domo Genesis, SteamRoller. Nel febbraio 2011 ha pubblicato il suo mixtape di debutto, nostalgia,ULTRA., acclamato dalla critica, dal quale vennero estratti e pubblicati due singoli: "Novacane" e "Swim Good". Entrambi i singoli hanno avuto un grande riscontro, sia a livello commerciale che di critica. Per promuovere il suo disco fece un mini-tour di 7 date in Nord America ed in Europa.
Il mixtape catturò l'interesse di artisti come Kanye West, Beyoncé Knowles e Jay-Z, e Ocean fu chiamato a contribuire in due canzoni di Watch the Throne, l'album di Kanye West e Jay Z. Il 5 gennaio 2012, la BBC annunciò che Ocean raggiunse il secondo posto al Sound of 2012. L'artista mentre lavorava al suo album di debutto, che uscì nell'estate 2012, apparve al Coachella Festival. Il suo album di debutto, Channel Orange, venne pubblicato il 10 luglio 2012, venendo subito celebrato da critica e pubblico. Ocean è stato uno dei primi artisti hip-hop/R&B a fare coming out ed annunciare pubblicamente di avere una relazione omosessuale.
