Bastian Schweinsteiger (Kolbermoor, 1º agosto 1984) è un ex calciatore tedesco, di ruolo centrocampista. Con la nazionale tedesca si è laureato campione del mondo nel 2014.
Considerato uno dei migliori centrocampisti della sua generazione, con la maglia del Bayern Monaco ha conquistato otto campionati tedeschi, sette DFB-Pokal, due DFL-Ligapokal e due DFL-Supercup. Ha inoltre vinto una Champions League (2012-2013), una Supercoppa UEFA (2013) ed un Mondiale per Club (2013).
Ha un fratello, Tobias, ex calciatore nel ruolo di attaccante.
Il 12 luglio 2016, dopo due anni di relazione, si è sposato a Venezia con la ex tennista serba Ana Ivanović. Insieme hanno avuto due figli: Luka, nato il 19 marzo 2018, e Stefan, nato il 30 agosto 2019.
È un centrocampista completo, molto abile negli inserimenti e ad impostare il gioco; possiede, inoltre, un tiro molto potente e preciso dalla distanza. Inizia la carriera come ala destra, ma viene poi schierato diverse volte da Felix Magath come terzino destro, per essere infine definitivamente spostato in mediana da Jürgen Klinsmann. Può ricoprire il ruolo di mediano, centrocampista centrale e trequartista.
