Emily Post (c. 27 ottobre 1872 – 25 settembre 1960) è stato un autore Americano famoso per aver scritto il galateo.
Post nasce Emily Prezzo a Baltimora, nel Maryland, possibilmente nel mese di ottobre 1872 (la data precisa è in discussione). Suo padre era architetto, Bruce Prezzo, e sua madre era Josephine (Lee) Prezzo di Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Dopo essere stato educato a casa, nei suoi primi anni di vita, Prezzo partecipato a Miss Graham finito la scuola a New York, dopo che la sua famiglia si trasferì.
Il New York Times' Dinitia Smith rapporti, nella sua recensione di Laura Claridge's 2008 biografia del Post, "Emily era alta, bella e viziata. Lei è cresciuta in un mondo di grand estates, la sua vita è governata dalla accuratamente delineato rituali come il cotillon, con le sue complesse forme e le sue danze — il Ventilatore, il Signore Deriso, Mamma Oca — chiamato in curve da capogiro da un maestro di ballo.
Prezzo incontrato il suo futuro marito, Edwin Principale del Post, un importante banchiere, a un ballo in Fifth Avenue palazzo.
