Bruno Mars, pseudonimo di Peter Gene Hernandez (Honolulu, 8 ottobre 1985), è un cantautore e produttore discografico statunitense.
La sua ispirazione musicale è Michael Jackson e molti critici lo indicano come suo degno erede, riscontrando numerose analogie nel timbro vocale e nella versatilità di generi musicali.
Nel 2009 firma un contratto con la Atlantic Records dopo un periodo di insuccesso con l'etichetta discografica Motown Records.
Ha scritto hit di successo per artisti come Flo Rida o Adam Levine. Raggiunge la notorietà nel 2010, prestando la voce a Nothin' on You hit del rapper B.o.B e a Billionaire di Travie McCoy. Il suo album di debutto, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, nel 2010, ha avuto i singoli Just the Way You Are e Grenade che hanno entrambi raggiunto la vetta della Billboard Hot 100, e sono state rispettivamente la prima e la seconda canzone più vendute del 2011, e il terzo singolo estratto dall'album, The Lazy Song ha raggiunto la posizione numero 5 della Billboard Hot 100, nonché il decimo singolo più venduto del 2011. Il suo secondo album, Unorthodox Jukebox, è stato pubblicato nel 2012, ha raggiunto la posizione numero uno negli Stati Uniti.
