David Josué Jiménez Silva (Arguineguín, 8 gennaio 1986) è un calciatore spagnolo, centrocampista o ala del Manchester City, del quale è capitano.
Con il club ha vinto una Coppa del Re (2007-2008), due Coppe d'Inghilterra (2010-2011, 2018-2019), quattro campionati inglesi (2011-2012, 2013-2014, 2017-2018 e 2018-2019) tre Community Shield (2012, 2018 e 2019), cinque Coppe di Lega inglesi (2013-2014, 2015-2016, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020). Con la nazionale spagnola ha vinto il campionato d'Europa del 2008 e del 2012 e il campionato del mondo del 2010.
Soprannominato El Chino per via delle origini giapponesi e Merlino per le sue giocate assai tecniche in campo, Silva è tra gli esterni più talentuosi del suo periodo. Ai tempi del Valencia, David Silva era spesso schierato come ala sinistra, pur sapendo giocare sapientemente anche da mezza punta; il suo ruolo madre resta comunque il trequartista, avendo un'ottima visione di gioco che gli consente spesso di fare assist decisivi, pre-assist e spesso anche di inserirsi e cercare la conclusione a rete. Riesce a gestire il gioco velocemente e con lucidità, dettando il ritmo in modo intelligente. Ottimo dribblatore, rapido, bravo nelle verticalizzazioni, tra i migliori assist-man del panorama calcistico mondiale, è definito, assieme al connazionale Xavi, il re del "pre-assist", ovvero quel giocatore «in grado di fornire il passaggio al compagno che lo trasformerà nell'assist vincente».
