Namie Amuro (安室 奈美恵, Amuro Namie, Naha, Prefectura de Okinawa, 20 de septiembre de 1977) es una cantante, bailarina y previamente estrella (actriz/cantante) infantil retirada, quien, debido al peso de su popularidad era conocida como la "Reina adolescente de Japón" y la "Reina del J-pop". Se retiró de los escenarios el 16 de septiembre de 2018, dando su último concierto en su Okinawa natal.
Amuro debutó a la edad de catorce años en un grupo de chicas llamado Super Monkey's. Aunque no tuvieron mucho éxito, el grupo ganó popularidad en su último año con el sencillo "Try Me ~Watashi o Shinjite~" (1995). Amuro dejó el grupo después del lanzamiento de dos sencillos más; comenzó su carrera como solista con el entonces-pequeño e independiente sello discográfico Avex Trax. Bajo la enseñanza del productor Tetsuya Komuro, Amuro rápidamente se convirtió en un éxito comercial, produciendo ventas millonarias de sus discos y comenzando varias tendencias de moda. Su sencillo "Can You Celebrate?" (1997) se convirtió en el sencillo más vendido por una solista femenina en Japón. A finales de ese año Amuro se retiró para dedicarse a su compromiso y embarazo.
