Mort Shuman (12 Kasım 1936 - 2 Kasım 1991) ABD'li şarkıcı, piyanist ve söz yazarı, 1960'lı yıllarda tutulan rock and roll parçalarıyla ünlenmiştir, bu şarkılara "Viva Las Vegas" adlı şarkı da dahildir. Shuman ayrıca, birçok Fransızca şarkı yazarak bu şarkıları seslendirmiştir, Le Lac Majeur, Allo Papa Tango Charlie, Sha Mi Sha, Un Eté de Porcelaine, Brooklyn by the Sea gibi Fransa'da çok tutulan şarkılar; bahsi geçen Fransızca şarkılara örnektir.
Shuman Polonyalı Yahudi bir ailenin çocuğu olarak Brooklyn, New York'ta dünyaya geldi. Abraham Lincoln Lisesini bitiren Shuman, bunun ardından New York Konservatuvarı'nda müzik eğitimi aldı. Bu yıllarda R&B grubunun bir hayranı oldu ve Doc Pomus ile bu yıllarda tanıştı. Bu tanışmanın ardından, Aldon Muzik'in New York'taki iş yerinde çalışmalara başlayıp, Pomus'la birlikte şarkı sözleri yazdı, melodiler oluşturdu. Onların çalışmaları Dion, Andy Williams, Bobby Darin, Fabian, The Drifters ve Elvis Presley gibi müzisyenler tarafından seslendirildi. "A Teenager in Love", "Turn Me Loose", "This Magic Moment", "Save The Last Dance For Me", "Little Sister", "an't Get Used to Losing You", "(Marie's the Name) His Latest Flame", "Viva Las Vegas" ve "Sweets for my Sweets" ikilinin oluşturduğu en önemli şarkılarından oldu.
