Michelle Wingshan Kwan d. 7 Temmuz 1980), ABD'li buz patenci. İki kez (1998 & 2002) Olimpiyat madalyası kazanmış, beş kez (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 & 2003) Dünya şampiyonu (Sonia Henie'nin ardından en fazla kazanan sporcudur) ve dokuz kez (1996, 1998–2005) ABD Ulusal şampiyonudur (Maribel Vinson-Owen ile rekoru paylaşmaktadır).
Buzdaki anlatımı ve istikrarı ile tüm zamanların en iyi buz patencilerinden biri olareak bilinir. On yılı aşkın bir süre artistik patinajda çok üst düzeyde yarışmış ve önemli başarılara imza atmıştır.
Kwan on yılı aşkın bir süre içinde sadece ABD'deki en popüler buz patenci değil, ABD'nin en tanınmış ve ilgi çeken kadın sporcularından biri oldu. Yarışmayı bırakmasından sonra bile bu popülerliğini sürdürdü. Kwan bu popülerliği ile birçok TV şovuna katıldı ve yaygın medyada konu oldu. Sadece ABD'de Çin'de de benzer şekilde popüler bir sporcudur.
Kwan, beş kez (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 & 2003) Dünya şampiyonu olmuş ve Carol Heiss'dan (1956–1960) bu yana en fazla şampiyonluk alan ABD'li sporcu olmuştur. Dokuz kez ABD Ulusal şampiyonu (1996, 1998–2005) olan sporcu en fazla altın madalya alan sporcu dalında Maribel Vinson-Owen (1928–1933, 1935–1937) ile birlikte rekoru paylaşmnaktadır. Kwan'ın arka arkaya sekiz ABD şampiyonluğu (1998–2005) ve 12 ABD şampiyonası madalyası (1994–2005) alarak bu dallarda ABD rekoru sahibidir. Nagano'da yapılan 1998 Kış Olimpiyatları ve ABD'de Salt Lake City'de yapılan 2002 Kış Olimpiyatları'nda madalya kazanmıştır. ABD'nin en iyi amatör sporcularına verilenJames E. Sullivan Award kazanmıştır. Kendisi 1949'da Dick Button'dan sonra bu ödülü kazanan ilk artistik buz pateni sporcusudur. Kwan , Ulusal düzeyde ve Dünya şampiyonalarında toplamda 57 tane 6.0 puan (mükemmel anlamına gelen ve verilebilecek en yüksek puan) almıştır. ABD şampiyonasında en fazla 6.0 puan alan sporcudur. 6.0 puan sistemi kaldırıldığı için Kwan'ın rekorlarını yenilemek mümkün değildir.
