Julien Clerc, pronunciado , (4 de outubro de 1947), nasceu como Paulo Alain Leclerc, é um cantor francês e compositor.
Nascido em Paris, Clerc cresci ouvindo música clássica em seu pai, Paul Alain Clerc em casa, enquanto sua mãe, Evelyn Merlot apresentou-lhe a música de cantores tais como Georges Brassens e Edith Piaf. Ele começou a aprender piano aos seis, e por 13 anos, começou a tocar de ouvido de tudo o que ouve no rádio.
Durante a sua escola secundária e universidade dias, ele conheceu Maurice Vallet e Etienne Roda-Gil, dois de seus principais compositores, e começou a compor suas primeiras canções. Ele mudou seu nome para Julien Clerc, mediante a assinatura de um contrato com a Pathé Marconi, lançando seu primeiro álbum em Maio de 1968.
O álbum passou a ganhar a Académie Charles Cros Registro Prêmio. Em 1969, Clerc foi no Olympia palco pela primeira vez para abrir para Gilbert Becaud concerto. Apesar de ter sido no show business por apenas um ano, o seu desempenho foi um grande sucesso. Ele iria mais tarde retornar várias vezes para Olympia para uma série de concertos.
