Riccardo Cocciante (ur. 20 lutego 1946 w Sajgonie, w Indochinach Francuskich, obecnie Wietnam) – włoski piosenkarz i kompozytor, autor kilku musicali, w tym Notre-Dame de Paris (1998). Zwycięzca Festiwalu Piosenki Włoskiej w San Remo w 1991 roku z piosenką „Se stiamo insieme”.
Urodzony w Sajgonie w 1946 roku jako syn Włocha i Francuzki, wyjechał z rodziną powodu wojny z Indochin i zamieszkał w Rzymie podejmując pracę w jednym z hoteli. Pomimo niskiego wzrostu odbył służbę wojskową, a pod koniec lat 60. pojawił się w lokalnych środowiskach muzycznych.
Zadebiutował w 1972 roku albumem Mu, będącym czymś w rodzaju rock-opery, z tekstami Paula Casselli i Marca Lubertiego. W 1973 wydał album Poesia, również z tekstami firmowanymi przez spółkę Cassella–Luberti, który został zauważony dzięki promującemu go singlowi pod tym samym tytułem. Ten sam zespół zrealizował w 1974 album Anima, który dzięki pochodzącym z niego singlom „Bella senz’anima” i „Quando finisce un amore” stał się pierwszym wielkim sukcesem Riccarda Cocciante. W 1976 roku powrócił on na szczyty list przebojów z piosenką „Margherita” i albumem Concerto per Margherita. Mniejszym powodzeniem cieszyły się jego kolejne albumy, wydawane do końca dekady. W międzyczasie artyście udało się zdobyć popularność we Francji.
