Matthew James Bellamy (ur. 9 czerwca 1978 w Cambridge) – brytyjski muzyk rockowy, lider zespołu Muse, multiinstrumentalista. Śpiewa, pisze teksty, gra na gitarze elektrycznej, fortepianie i instrumentach klawiszowych.
Ojciec Matta, George, był muzykiem, grał na gitarze rytmicznej w znanej w latach 60. grupie The Tornados. Matka Matta, Marilyn, pochodziła z Belfastu, przybyła do Anglii w latach 70. Już pierwszego dnia pobytu poznała George'a Bellamy'ego, pracującego wtedy jako taksówkarz w Londynie. Wkrótce przenieśli się do Cambridge gdzie urodził się Paul, starszy brat Matta i on sam.
Matthew zadebiutował jako 12-latek na szkolnym konkursie talentów, gdzie zagrał utwór boogie-woogie na pianinie. Po ukończeniu szkoły średniej nastoletni Matthew był już praktycznie samodzielny. Pracował jako hydraulik, malarz pokojowy i remontował mieszkania.
Jeszcze w szkole wraz z kolegami Chrisem Wolstenholme i Dominikiem Howardem utworzyli zespół rockowy Muse. Matthew gra tam na gitarze, instrumentach klawiszowych, jest kompozytorem i autorem tekstów. Jego charakterystyczny wokal momentami podchodzi pod falset. Muzycy, którzy wywarli na niego największy wpływ to m.in. Tom Morello z Rage Against the Machine i Jimi Hendrix, a z muzyki poważnej Siergiej Rachmaninow i Fryderyk Chopin. Wraz z resztą zespołu otrzymał wiele nagród m.in. nagrody magazynu Q, tygodnika NME, Kerrang!, nagrodę Brit Awards i MTV Europe Music Awards.
