Djimon Gaston Hounsou (ur. 24 kwietnia 1964 w Kotonu, Benin) – amerykański aktor, tancerz i model benińskiego pochodzenia, nominowany do Oscara w kategorii „najlepszy aktor drugoplanowy” za role w filmach Nasza Ameryka (In America, 2002) i Krwawy diament (Blood Diamond, 2006).
Urodził się w Kotonu w południowym Beninie jako syn Albertine i kucharza Pierre’a Hounsou. W 1977 roku, mając 13 lat wyjechał wspólnie z bratem do Paryża, gdzie wiódł żywot bezdomnego. Pewnego dnia „odkrył go” dla świata mody projektant Thierry Mugler.
Szybko upomniało się o niego Hollywood. Wystąpił w teledysku do przeboju Janet Jackson „Love Will Never Do (Without You)” (1990). Debiutancką rolę zagrał w komedii muzycznej Bez ciebie nie istnieję (Without You I’m Nothing, 1990) z Sandrą Bernhard, Steve’em Antinem, Kenem Foree, Robin Antin i Johnem Doe.
Kariera Djimona Hounsou nabrała przyśpieszenia w 1997 roku. Rola przywódcy buntu niewolników w filmie Stevena Spielberga Amistad sprawiła, iż twarz aktora stała się rozpoznawalna na całym świecie. Kreacja ta przyniosła mu również nominację do Złotego Globu. Kolejne produkcje, m.in. Gladiator Ridleya Scotta czy Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Kolebka życia, utrwaliły pozycję Djimona Hounsou jako jednego z najlepiej rozpoznawalnych aktorów charakterystycznych w Hollywood. Grywał też w serialach, w tym Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) jako wykidajło w nocnym klubie, Ostry dyżur (ER, 1999) jako Mobalage Ikabo czy AXN Agentka o stu twarzach (Alias, 2003–2004) jako Kazari Bomani.
