Albert Johnson, meglio conosciuto con lo pseudonimo Prodigy (Hempstead, 2 novembre 1974 – Las Vegas, 20 giugno 2017), è stato un rapper statunitense.
È stato molto celebre negli anni novanta del XX secolo nell'East Coast rap per aver fatto parte del duo Mobb Deep con il rapper Havoc.
Nasce nel quartiere Long Island di New York, da genitori di origini etiopi e giamaicane. Affetto da anemia falciforme, una malattia genetica, per tutta la vita deve subirne gli effetti. Dopo aver conosciuto Havoc nella prestigiosa High School Art & Design di Manhattan ed aver formato con lui il duo Mobb Deep, cerca di esprimere la vita di strada, fra droga e povertà, attraverso il rap.
Il loro album di debutto è Juvenile Hell, pubblicato nel 1993, che ottiene un discreto successo. Prodigy partecipa alla rabbiosa faida tra East Coast e West Coast nella quale si schiera a fianco di The Notorious B.I.G. contro l'altro rapper coinvolto, Tupac. Sono numerosi gli episodi in cui Prodigy e Tupac si attaccano con violenti diss, i riferimenti negativi più o meno espliciti verso l'avversario.
