Luka Dončić (Lubiana, 28 febbraio 1999) è un cestista sloveno, che gioca come playmaker e guardia nei Dallas Mavericks, squadra che milita nella NBA, massima divisione della pallacanestro statunitense.
Considerato uno dei giovani talenti più promettenti della pallacanestro europea e uno dei migliori giocatori internazionali della sua generazione, dalla stagione 2015-2016 viene integrato in pianta stabile nella prima squadra del Real Madrid.
Per il suo essere slavo e per la sua precocità nel mondo della pallacanestro (pur essendo giocatori abbastanza diversi) viene spesso accostato a Dražen Petrović.
Considerato uno dei migliori giovani europei di tutti i tempi, Dončić può giocare sia da playmaker che da guardia, grazie alla sua innata versatilità. È dotato di un notevole bagaglio di esperienze per essere così giovane e questo, unito al suo fisico (200 cm x 99 kg, molto potente per essere un playmaker), gli permette di essere un fattore in tutte le situazioni: è un abilissimo attaccante, capace di creare dal palleggio; giocare il P&R per servire i compagni sul perimetro o assistere il rollante oppure mettersi in proprio ed arrivare al ferro; giocare in post contro avversari più piccoli di lui. Inoltre, è molto bravo ad assorbire i contatti in area, subendo molti falli per andare in lunetta e cercando spesso il fallo e canestro (and one). Difensivamente, a volte tende a essere un po' pigro ma è molto bravo a leggere in anticipo le intenzioni degli avversari.
