Jorge Negrete il cui nome completo era Jorge Alberto Negrete Moreno (Guanajuato, 30 novembre 1911 – Los Angeles, 5 dicembre 1953) è stato un cantante e attore messicano.
Era soprannominato "El Charro cantor".
Nato a Guanajuato, capitale dello stato messicano di Guanajuato, visse anche a San Luis Potosí. Proveniente da una famiglia di militari, si diplomò al collegio militare.
Con la sua voce affascinante è stato un vero idolo in Messico, in Spagna e nell'America latina per più di 50 anni dopo la sua morte. La sua registrazione della canzone "México lindo y querido" divenne quasi un inno nazionale. La sua carriera viene spesso paragonata a quella di Pedro Infante, il più popolare attore di quell'"epoca d'oro" del cinema messicano, ma la pubblica rivalità non toccava la loro vita privata e furono grandi amici.
È stato sposato due volte: con l'attrice Elisa Christy, da cui ha avuto una figlia, Diana Negrete; e con María Félix. Ha convissuto inoltre per più di 10 anni con Gloria Marín, coprotagonista con lui in 10 dei suoi 44 film. Il matrimonio con María Félix fu considerato come "le nozze del secolo", intervennero le più grandi celebrità del mondo dello spettacolo e di quello dell'arte, come Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo e Octavio Paz.
