Hermann Maier (Altenmarkt im Pongau, 7 dicembre 1972) è un ex sciatore alpino austriaco.
Da molti considerato uno dei più forti sciatori di sempre, ha vinto quattro medaglie olimpiche, di cui due d'oro, sei medaglie mondiali (tre ori) e quattro Coppe del Mondo tra le fine degli anni novanta e gli anni duemila. In tredici stagioni disputate nel massimo circuito internazionale ha ottenuto 54 vittorie, terzo in campo maschile dopo lo svedese Ingemar Stenmark (86) e il connazionale Marcel Hirscher (58); con un totale di 96 podi risulta quarto in questa classifica, dietro allo stesso Stenmark (155), all'austriaco Marcel Hirscher (123) e all'austro-lussemburghese Marc Girardelli (100). A oggi è il secondo sciatore austriaco più vincente di sempre, dietro a Marcel Hirscher, e in assoluto quello con il maggior numero di vittorie in Super G.
La carriera agonistica di "Herminator", soprannome affibbiatogli dalla stampa per il fisico massiccio e l'aggressività in pista, è stata divisa in due dall'incidente motociclistico dell'agosto 2001. Sciatore più forte al mondo in quel momento, ha evitato di poco l'amputazione della gamba destra ed è stato costretto ad una lunga riabilitazione per recuperare le funzionalità dell'arto. Tornato nel Circo bianco nel gennaio 2003 tra molte perplessità, è riuscito, nella sua seconda vita sportiva, a riconquistare i vertici dello sci alpino.
