Giorgio Faletti (Asti, 25 novembre 1950 – Torino, 4 luglio 2014) è stato uno scrittore, attore, cantautore, comico e cabarettista italiano.
Personaggio poliedrico ed eclettico, nel corso della sua vita ha saputo raggiungere il successo in campi diversi, dapprima come comico, poi come cantante e infine come giallista.
Figlio unico di Carlo Faletti e di Michela Dafarra, Giorgio Faletti visse da bambino nel Borgo Torretta, in un modesto alloggio di Corso Torino, ad Asti. Suo padre era un commerciante ambulante e vendeva bottoni e forcine per i capelli in piazza Vittorio Alfieri, nel centro di Asti. Sua madre era una sarta. Il nonno di Faletti era un antiquario e raccoglieva nel suo magazzino oggetti antichi, opere d’arte, mobili e libri. Nel 1976 il ventiseienne Faletti, assieme a due amici, affittò uno studio pubblicitario ad Asti. Si iscrisse anche a giurisprudenza senza ultimare gli studi, preferendo intraprendere la via dello spettacolo. Incominciò la carriera come cabarettista nel locale milanese Derby negli anni Settanta, nello stesso periodo in cui sul palco del locale circolavano Diego Abatantuono, Teo Teocoli, Massimo Boldi, Paolo Rossi, Giorgio Porcaro, Francesco Salvi, Enzo Jannacci.
