Béatrice Martin (nato il 22 settembre 1989), meglio conosciuto con il suo nome d'arte Cœur de pirate (in francese per il Pirata del Cuore), è una cantautrice Canadese e pianista. Un francofono da Montreal, canta per lo più in francese ed è stato accreditato con "portare la chanson française di una nuova generazione di Quebec giovani".
Nato nella provincia del Quebec, Martin ha iniziato a suonare il pianoforte quando aveva solo tre anni. Entrò il Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal, all'età di nove anni e ha studiato lì per cinque anni.
All'età di 15 anni, ha suonato come tastierista nel post-hardcore band dicembre Colpisce Prima, che ha interpretato il suo migliore amico, Francesco, che più tardi sarebbe diventato il soggetto della canzone "Francesco", il suo album di debutto. Martin avuto una breve esperienza come tastierista per Bonjour Brumario dalla fine del 2007 ad aprile 2008.
In un rapporto di trasmissione della televisione francese, Martin ha spiegato che ha scelto il nome "Cœur de pirate" a non apparire "come un isolato musicista, ma per ottenere una banda di identità". Inizialmente ha chiamato a se stessa il Suo Pirata Cuore, ma tradotto il nome in francese, quando ha smesso di scrivere canzoni in inglese. Ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto Cœur de pirate su settembre 16, 2008, su Grosse Boîte. Descritto come "abbastanza semplice" musicalmente è principalmente caratterizzato la sua voce e pianoforte, con qualche piccola strumentazione aggiuntiva.
