Diana Mariam Kurien, née le 18 novembre 1984 à Tiruvalla dans le Kerala, est une actrice indienne) connue sous le nom de Nayanthara (tamoul : நயநதாரா), ce qui signifie "Yeux étoilés". Elle joue dans des films de Kollywood, ainsi qu'en télougou et en malayalam.
Nayantara possède un bachelors degree en littérature anglaise. On lui proposa de jouer dans le film en malayalam Manasinakkare de Sathyan Anthikkad, où elle donna la réplique à Jayaram. Le film fut un gros succès dans le Kerala, ce qui lança sa carrière et lui permit d'entrer dans le cinéma tamoul.
Née le 18 novembre 1984 dans une famille de l'Église syro-malankare orthodoxe à Tiruvalla, dans le district de Pathanamthitta au Kerala, elle passa son enfance un peu partout en Inde (Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, Punjab et Karnataka) car son père était membre de l'Armée de l'Air indienne. Elle obtint son bachelors degree en littérature anglaise à Tiruvalla. Au cours de ses études, elle commença à jouer et fut choisie par le réalisateur Satyan Anthikkad pour donner la réplique à Jayaram dans Mansinakkare (2003). Elle joua ensuite un fantôme amoureux du héros Mohanlal dans le film de Fazil Vismayathumbathu. Elle joua ensuite avec Sarath Kumar dans Ayya, puis avec Rajinikanth dans Chandramukhi. Ses derniers films sont Natturaajavu (en Malayalam), Thaskaraveeran (en Malayalam), Vallavan (en Tamoul), Gajini (en Tamoul), Yogi (en Telougou), etc. Bien lancée dans l'industrie cinématographique en Tamoul & en Telougou, elle a été beaucoup admirée pour son rôle dans l'énorme succès tamoul Billa.
