Béla Lugosi, de son vrai nom Béla Blaskó (20 octobre 1882, Lugos, Transylvanie, Autriche-Hongrie (actuellement Roumanie) - 16 août 1956, Los Angeles, Californie, États-Unis), est un acteur de cinéma hongro-américain, célèbre pour ses rôles dans les films fantastiques et en particulier son interprétation du comte Dracula.
Béla Lugosi est né en 1882 dans la ville, à l'époque austro-hongroise, de Lugos.
Acteur de théâtre et du cinéma tant muet que parlant, il quitte la Hongrie en 1919, pour se rendre en Allemagne puis aux États-Unis. Après quelques années difficiles à cause de son manque de connaissance de l'anglais, il décroche à Broadway le rôle de Dracula, qu'il jouera des centaines de fois, dans la pièce de théâtre tirée du roman de Bram Stoker. Son accent hongrois contribua grandement à son jeu d'acteur. C'est ce même rôle de Dracula qu'il reprend en 1931 pour Universal Pictures dans le film de Tod Browning qui consacre sa célébrité. Malheureusement pour lui, il refuse de jouer la créature du film Frankenstein, la même année. Il est alors cantonné aux films d'horreur, dont la qualité baisse lentement à partir de 1950. Il est, dans ces mêmes années, inquiété dans le cadre du maccarthisme en raison de son engagement syndical aux Etats-unis, et de sa participation aux instances de la République des conseils de Hongrie. À la suite de problèmes de santé, il est traité à la morphine dont il devient dépendant.
