Sergio Fajardo Valderrama (Medellín, 19 de junio de 1956) es un político, matemático y profesor universitario colombiano. Fue Alcalde de Medellín de 2004 a 2007 y Gobernador del departamento de Antioquia de 2012 a 2015. Fue candidato a la Presidencia de la República por la Coalición Colombia conformada por el Polo Democrático Alternativo, la Alianza Verde y el Movimiento Compromiso Ciudadano en las elecciones presidenciales de 2018.
Fue fórmula vicepresidencial del candidato Antanas Mockus en las elecciones presidenciales del año 2010 con el Partido Verde. Los medios de comunicación lo catalogan como un candidato de centro. Analistas políticos lo catalogan como «una opción descontaminada y descontaminante» en el ámbito político; de igual modo, el diario español El País le proclamó «el independiente más independiente de todos».
Durante bastante tiempo orientó sus esfuerzos en el área académica de importantes universidades de Colombia y del mundo, y ha sido galardonado en varias ocasiones por su investigaciones académicas, fundamentalmente gracias a su labor en la Universidad de los Andes, de Bogotá y de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Fue miembro del Consejo Nacional de Ciencias Básicas, la Comisión Nacional de Maestrías y Doctorados, la Junta Directiva de la Fundación de Apoyo a la Universidad de Antioquia y Director del Centro de Ciencia y Tecnología de Antioquia.
