Ruth Beitia Vila (Santander, Cantabria, 1 de abril de 1979) es una atleta española retirada, especialista en salto de altura, diputada del Partido Popular en el Parlamento de Cantabria y desde septiembre de 2018 Secretaria de Deportes en la Ejecutiva Nacional del Partido Popular liderada por Pablo Casado.
Como deportista ha sido campeona olímpica en Río 2016 y tetracampeona de Europa. También ha logrado cinco medallas en campeonatos del mundo y nueve en campeonatos de Europa, además del oro en los Juegos del Mediterráneo. En 2015 se convirtió en la primera atleta española en ganar la IAAF Diamond League, título que revalidó en 2016.
En los Juegos Olímpicos de Río de Janeiro 2016 se convirtió en la primera mujer española en conseguir una medalla de oro en atletismo en unos Juegos Olímpicos.
En 1998 batió su primer récord de España al aire libre, saltando 1,89 m., en el año siguiente Marta Mendía supera el récord de Beitia con un salto de 1,91 m. y en el año 2000 lo deja en 1,93 m., récord que Beitia no superó hasta el año 2002. En los años siguientes ha mejorado varias veces esta marca hasta conseguir superar los 2,02 m, que es el actual récord de España, conseguido en San Sebastián el 4 de agosto de 2007. Es la primera y hasta ahora única mujer española que ha superado la barrera de los dos metros, y fue la novena mejor marca mundial de 2003.
