Rodney Glen King (Sacramento, 2 de abril de 1965-Rialto, 17 de junio de 2012) fue un taxista estadounidense. Conocido por haber sido agredido brutalmente por varios agentes de la policía angelina el 3 de marzo de 1991 después de haber sido perseguido por estos estando en libertad condicional por robo.
King nació en Sacramento. Fue criado en Altadena. Su padre Ronald murió en 1984 a los 42 años.
Padre de tres hijas contrajo matrimonio con Crystal Waters, y luego con Danetta. Su última pareja fue Cynthia Kelly.
En noviembre de 1989, King robó en una tienda de Monterey Park, en la que golpeó con un bate al propietario. Fue declarado culpable y sentenciado a dos años de prisión.
Trabajando como taxista el 3 de marzo de 1991, fue perseguido en la autopista por la policía a altas velocidades, negándose a detenerse cuando se le indicaba mediante luces y sirenas. Tras saltarse varios semáforos y señales de alto, se paró en el distrito de Lake View Terrace. King, que tenía antecedentes de conducción bajo los efectos del alcohol, y se creía que había consumido fenciclidina, se resistió a su arresto, y fue derribado, inmovilizado y golpeado con porras por cuatro miembros del LAPD, estando esposado.
