Gregorio Paltrinieri (Carpi, 5 de septiembre de 1994) es un nadador italiano especializado en las pruebas de fondo que ha sido campeón olímpico, mundial y europeo.
Comenzó muy pronto la práctica de la natación, y con seis años ya competía en este deporte. Comenzó en la modalidad de braza y solo después de que uno de sus entrenadores descubriera su gran capacidad de resistencia, cambió a las pruebas de fondo.
En 2011, supuso su ascenso a la élite, al obtener el campeonato absoluto de Italia y conseguir su primer triunfo internacional con la medalla de oro en los campeonatos de Europa juveniles, en la prueba de 1500 metros libres, que es su gran especialidad y medalla de bronce en los 800 metros. Acudió también al Campeonato Mundial de Shangái, donde en los 1500 metros libre quedó en la 19.° posición, no logrando pasar a la final.
En 2012, con diecisiete años, se proclamó, por primera vez, campeón de Europa en 1500 metros y subcampeón en los 800. Paltrinieri debutó en los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012, en los que accedió a la final de los 1500 metros libre, logrando el quinto lugar. En 2013, obtuvo su primera medalla a nivel mundial, al ser tercero en los 1500 metros libre en el Campeonato Mundial de Barcelona.
