Tsvetana Pironkova (Bulgarian: Цветана Кирилова Пиронкова ) (born 13 September 1987) is a Bulgarian tennis player and the current no. 1 Bulgarian in the WTA rankings. She is right-handed and plays with a two-handed backhand. Born in Plovdiv, Pironkova started playing tennis at the age of four on being introduced to the sport by her father, who later coached her. After playing at a junior level and winning Atlantic Cup, she made her senior international tournament debut in 2002 at the International Tennis Federation circuit. Early in her career, Pironkova won six international singles titles at the ITF circuit.
