Samantha May Kerr (born 10 September 1993) is an Australian association football player who plays for Perth Glory in the Australian W-League and Chicago Red Stars in the United States' National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She is the current captain of the Australia women's national soccer team (the Matildas). As of the 2018 season, she is the all-time leading scorer in the NWSL.
Kerr started her career at Perth Glory in 2008 and played there until 2012, when she was transferred to Sydney FC. She got a transfer to head to the United States, where she played in 2013 with Western New York Flash before moving to Sky Blue FC in the NWSL. In 2013, she helped the Flash win the inaugural NWSL Shield. Kerr won her first cap in 2009 and has represented Australia at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cups. On the world stage, she has been in the Australian squad since 2009.
In 2017, she was awarded the Julie Dolan Medal as the best player in Australia. She was named International Player of the Year by the Football Media Association (FMA) in 2013 and 2014. On 25 January 2018, Kerr was named the 2018 Young Australian of the Year.
