Laia Costa Bertrán (Catalan pronunciation: a ˈkɔsta]; born 18 February 1985, Barcelona, Catalonia) is a Spanish actress who has worked in Spain, Russia, Germany, Argentina, U.K. and the United States.
In January 2017, Laia Costa was nominated for the 2017 BAFTA EE Rising Star Award, for her role in the critically acclaimed Victoria, for which she became the first foreign actress to win a Lola, the biggest award by German Academy of Cinema, won Best Actress at the Gaudí Awards by the Catalan Academy of Cinema and was also nominated Best European Actress in the European Film Awards.
Costa has premiered in the Sundance Film Festival Newness, the latest film from Drake Doremus where she shares the spotlight with Nicholas Hoult and is now on Netflix.
She has some new projects coming soon like Life Itself by Dan Fogelman alongside Oscar Isaac, Samuel L. Jackson and Antonio Banderas, Duck Butter by Miguel Arteta with Alia Shawkat, and Piercing by Nicolas Pesce with Christopher Abbott and Mia Wasikowska.
