Prior to winning, Hinarani was the candidate that has been chosen by the public in order to be one of the four finalists of Miss Tahiti. During the show, the question she had to answer was "What does beauty represent for you?" Her answer was "Tastes and color cannot be debated, beauty is present in the eye of the beholder, it's a subjectivity issue. As the former first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, said, future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams and tonight I want to believe in mine. The one who'll get the crown will beautifully finish the evening." This title allowed her to participate in the Miss France competition which was held on December 8 in Limoges. Her first runner-up, Ariirau Sandras competed in Miss International 2012. Second runner-up is Ina Pater and Miss Heiva is Vaea Terorohauepa.
