Engin Öztürk was born on September 28, 1986 in Eskişehir. Engin's father is of Bulgarian Turkish descent and he was aviation cadet in the Turkish army. Engin's mother is of Rumelian Turkish descent. He played volleyball for 8 years. After graduating from Eskişehir Fatih Anatolian High School, he elected his father's profession and entered the Izmir Air Astsubay Vocational High School in 2003 and graduated in 2005. However, he leaved the TSK(Turkish Armed Forces) in 2006 due to his incompatibility with military service and came to Ankara and completed his education in Hacettepe University State Conservatory the department of theater in 2012. He entered the conservatory due to the curiosity of the 'theater community' he had attended in the Izmir Air Astsubay Vocational High School. He made a bartender for a while. Engin Öztürk, in 2010, started to play as Selim Yaşaran in the tv series called Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne? and internationally started to be recognized. In 2013, he played in the international historical drama called Muhteşem Yüzyıl as Şehzade Selim.
