Franco Califano (Trípoli, 14 de septiembre de 1938 – Roma, 30 de marzo de 2013) fue un letrista, poeta, músico, cantante y actor italiano.
Nacido en un avión por encima de Trípoli, vivió la mayor parte de su vida en Roma, ciudad en cuyo dialecto solía cantar, y Milán. En los años sesenta comenzó su carrera musical como letrista, siendo algunos de sus primeros éxitos La musica è finita, E la chiamano estate y Una ragione di più.
