Ty Hodges (born May 26, 1981) is an American television and film actor, singer and rapper.
As a teenager, he attended the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida. Actor/writer/director Hodges was raised in a Barbadian and Trinidadian family. He is from West Indian roots and is first-generation American. Hodges started acting at the age of 11, first in theater, and then in television and film. At 16, Ty had dreams of going to Hollywood to follow his dreams. His parents supported him on this journey and gave him a month to book a job. A week before he had to return to Miami, Florida, he landed the starring role in Janet Jackson’s video Go Deep and from there became a Disney actor for five years, most notably in the roles of Larry Beale in the Emmy-nominated Even Stevens and Larry Houdini in Don’t Look Under The Bed. Later roles include The Young Little Richard Story, and parts in Boston Public, Felicity, The District and NYPD Blue. He was in Oprah Winfrey’s David and Lisa alongside Sidney Poitier, and was in The Challenge with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Material Girls with Hilary and Haylie Duff and numerous other movies.
