Terry William Rozier III (born March 17, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played two years of college basketball for Louisville before being selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Celtics.
Rozier was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1994. His father, Terry Rozier Sr., was imprisoned for 8 years starting two months after Rozier was born. Then, in 2005, after participating in a robbery in 2003, Rozier Sr. was sentenced to 13 years for kidnapping, robbery, and involuntary manslaughter. As a result, Rozier was raised primarily by his mother, Gina Tucker, and his grandmother, Amanda Tucker.
Rozier starred at Shaker Heights High School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, graduating in 2012. In his senior year, he averaged 25.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.7 steals, leading Shaker to a 21–3 record and taking them to the regional semifinal in 2012 for the first time since 2002. He was an All-Lake Erie League player for three years and was rated 74th overall in the 2012 ESPNU Top 100 players.
