Shashank Arora is an Indian actor, writer and musician. He was nominated for the best debut at Filmfare and is one of the first Indian actors to have his films in competition at both Cannes and the Sundance Film Festival.

Born Shashank 'Sunny' Arora on 21 February 1989 in New Delhi, Shashank was interested in music and theatre from a young age. After finishing high school in early 2006, he left for Montreal, Canada to study cinema and music. While there, he briefly joined a street theatre group formed by human rights activists. In 2008, he moved to Mumbai where he studied acting for two years, to pursue a career in film.
