Rachel Hollis is an American author, motivational speaker and blogger for a website called The Chic Site. Her self-help book Girl, Wash Your Face—since its release in February 2018—has maintained a spot in the top 10 best-selling books in the country for seven months, held the top spot for 12 of those weeks and has sold more than 880,000 total copies in the United States. It is the second-most popular book of the year on Amazon.com.

Hollis's grandparents were Okies who picked cotton to support their six children.

After graduating high school, Hollis moved to Los Angeles, where an obsession with Matt Damon led her to apply for (and get) a job at Miramax. While there, she met her husband and founded an event-planning company, Chic Events, which became "wildly successful."

Her breakthrough moment on social media came in March 2015, when an Instagram photo of her celebrating her stretch marks went viral. "I wear a bikini because I'm proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could," she wrote in the post. It garnered more than 10 million views.
