Morne Morkel (born 6 October 1984) is a South African cricketer who played all formats of the game for South Africa and currently plays for Surrey in English domestic cricket. He has played for Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm fast bowler with "genuine pace" according to former South African fast bowler Allan Donald, and a useful lower order left-handed batsman.
Morkel made his Test debut in 2006 and, even though was dropped due to poor form in 2009 (with his elder brother Albie Morkel taking his place) and injury concerns in 2015, he went on to play 86 Tests. In March 2018, he became the fifth bowler for South Africa to take 300 Test wickets. He also played 117 ODIs and 44 T20Is, making his debut in both forms in 2007.
On 26 February 2018, he announced that he would retire from all forms of international cricket at the end of the four-match Test series against Australia. Morkel played his last international game in March 2018 against Australia.
