Klaudia Tanner (born 2 May 1970) is an Austrian People's Party politician who has served in the Second Kurz government as Minister of Defense since January 2020. Tanner has been described as Austria's Iron Lady.
Tanner was born in the small town of Scheibbs in Lower Austria.
Tanner was appointed as Minister of Defense by Chancellor of Austria, Sebastian Kurz, making her the first woman to hold the position.
