Jacob Tremblay (/ˈtrɒmbleɪ/; French: ; born October 5, 2006) is a Canadian actor. His breakout performance was his starring role as Jack Newsome in Room (2015), for which he won the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. In 2017, he starred as August Pullman, a child with Treacher Collins syndrome, in the drama Wonder, and in 2019 he headlined the R-rated comedy film Good Boys.
Tremblay was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on October 5, 2006. He was raised in the nearby city of Langley, British Columbia. His father, Jason Tremblay, is a police detective, and his mother, Christina Candia Tremblay, is a homemaker. Tremblay's older sister Emma and younger sister Erica are also actors.
