Dari Alexander (born October 26, 1969) is an American news anchor. She is the co-anchor for the news at 5 and 10 p.m. on FOX 5 NY WNYW with Steven Lacy, in New York City. She also was a Former Fox News Anchor and Correspondent.
Alexander was born and raised in New York City. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in politics and Spanish literature. After college, she returned to New York and worked as a paralegal in the Organized Crime Unit at the New York County District Attorney's Office and later as Secretary of the Banking Board in the New York State Banking Department. She began her career working as a field producer for CBS News. Prior to joining FNC, Alexander served as a weekend anchor/reporter for WFAA-TV (ABC) in Dallas. She also worked in Columbus, Ohio for then NBC O & O, WCMH-TV. Alexander was also one of the first reporters to report from Ground Zero on September 11, 2001. During her tenure at WNYW Alexander has co-anchored the Fox 5 News at 6 with Rick Folbaum and solo, until she replaced Rosanna Scotto in 2008 when she moved to Good Day New York. Dari became the Co-Anchor of the Fox 5 news at 5 and 10 pm with Ernie Anastos, until 2014 when Anastos moved to his 6pm news show. She now sits alongside with her Co-anchor Steve Lacy, for the 5 and 10pm newscasts. Alexander briefly anchored alongside Greg Kelly in 2012, until he returned to Good Day New York. Before that, she was an anchor and correspondent at the Fox News Channel, where she anchored "Fox News Live," hours and traveled extensively overseas, including to Kabul, Afghanistan and to Pakistan, where she covered the murder of Daniel Pearl.
