Bowen Byram (born June 13, 2001) is a Canadian junior ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) as a prospect to the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected fourth overall by the Avalanche in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Byram set a Western Hockey League record, scoring six overtime goals in a season for the Giants. Byram ranked third among defensemen in the 2018–19 WHL season with 71 points (26 goals, 45 assists) in 67 games. During the 2019 WHL playoffs, he finished as the scoring leader with eight goals and 18 assists in 22 games.
Byram was selected fourth overall by the Colorado Avalanche during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. On July 19, the Avalanche signed Byram to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Byram played with Team Canada winning a gold medal at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
He is the son of former NHL forward, Shawn Byram, who played briefly with the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks.
